The DVD-audio from the 2010 remastered reissue Nick Cave's harrowing, tenebrous 1984 debut solo effort, the aftermath of The Birthday Party's demise. One of the most unusual recordings ever captured, the songs sound like a raging party threatening to collapse the ramshackle edifice where they take place. Replete with horror imagery to accompany an absolutely flesh-mottling soundtrack. Rukovodstvo po remontu ekskavatorov. The lyrics aren't typical stanzas so much as a sprawling narrative that rhymes at times. An utterly unique opus, there's nothing else quite like it, even in Cave's own discography.
