Best Answer: I have an authentic chloe bag purchased from Bergdorf Goodman in NY in January. Authenticity: There is a SERIAL NUMBER inside on the left side of the bag in light brown leather (My bag is the blue color). The zippers are in silver. The lock and key is Brass and NOT GOLD. On both sides of the bag chloe is written on the brass buckle that expands the bag, however on the right side the chloe is written on top and on the left side, chloe is written underneath the buckle.
The key to the lock has chloe written on it as well. Since my bag is blue it is sewn with the same shade of light blue thread and inside of the bag is a cream linen material type color.

Just soliciting some thoughts about the wisdom of buying a designer bag on ebay. I've been lusting after the Chloe Marcie bag (in black) for some time and the only thing preventing me from pulling the trigger is the price point. I found one on ebay which claims to be new with tags (and authenticity cards) for about 30% off the retail price. Plus, no sales tax.
This would make it more palatable, financially, but I don't want to be falling for a scam. I've purchased on ebay before, certainly, but never a designer item. Anyone have thoughts in this area? And for what it's worth, the sellers who I have found peddling fakes, including the one I bought from, were all power sellers with spotless feedback. If a seller has 10 negative feedback reviews out of thousands, they still register as 100%, and those negative reviews are usually the most telling (though good luck finding them). Most of the people who are buying from them are bargain hunters who have never seen the real deal to know how it compares, and aren't always good at spotting quality.
